October marks the 75th observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) – a time to educate on disability employment justice and equity as well as to celebrate and uplift voices of people with disabilities. In recognition of NDEAM, we have compiled resources and community networks focused on disability justice and critical disability theory both in and out of the library.
While we see value in these resources, the faculty and staff of the library also understand the necessity of doing the work required to create accessible spaces. The library is committed to ensuring our spaces are accessible, both online and in-person, by: having a member on the campus Accessibility Council, encouraging employees to complete the BaCE Accessibility and Universal Design certificate, performing audits of our physical and digital handouts, and working with our various departments to ensure all PDFs held or distributed by the library are accessible.

Disability justice critically focuses on how our current understanding of productivity, work ethic, and professionalism disenfranchises the needs and experiences of people with disabilities. Below are local and national communities focusing on rest, care, and community as resistance to current workplace cultures and expectations.
