Applications are now open for a Library Adjunct Faculty position at Washington State University Vancouver. This person will work 16 hours per week beginning in the Fall semester and extending through Spring. Working hours include evenings and weekends. This position’s anticipated start date is November 1st at the latest.

Duties:
- Deliver quality reference and information services to students, faculty, staff, and community members, in-person and remotely.
- Provide first level of trouble-shooting for library technologies such as the printing system, online catalog, and electronic resources.
- Work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues and students.
- Participate in regularly scheduled staff and reference meetings via Zoom.
- Willing to work a regular but somewhat flexible schedule that will include weekday evenings.
- Contribute to rotating library displays.
- Take leadership on library projects as needed.
- Perform other duties relevant to the position, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- ALA accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS, MSLS, MLIS) or currently enrolled in such a program.
- Willingness to contribute to the mission and educational role of WSU Vancouver.
- Ability to work with a wide range of patrons, including those from marginalized groups.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of basic reference sources, electronic information resources and systems, and electronic databases.
- Experience in an academic library environment.
- Ability to use a variety of software applications.
- Experience with, or interest in, designing and installing educational displays.
Workload, Salary and Benefits
The Library Adjunct Faculty position will work 16 hours per week (40% Full Time Academic Workload) during the remainder of the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. The salary for this position for a candidate with a Master of Library Information Science, or equivalent, degree is $6,800 per 17-week semester. The salary for this position for a candidate who is enrolled in a Master of Library and Information Science Degree, or equivalent, program but has not yet graduated is $5,576 per 17-week semester. Fall semester salary will be prorated according to start date.
