Keeping Our Community Safe

The Library takes the safety of its employees and patrons seriously.  As we prepared to open the building with limited hours, we went through an extensive planning process and our plan was examined and/or approved by multiple WSU groups.

The safety of the Library is a shared responsibility between library employees and our patrons.

Here are a few of the safety measures in place in the Library:

Hand sanitizer available in multiple places within the Library and all surfaces are disinfected after use.

Social distancing enforced through the removal of chairs and spacing of tables.

Signage to remind folks of safe behavior:

self-checkout of books

Re-imagining how services can be provided like self-checkout for books.

Patrons share in the responsibility of keeping the Library safe.  They must: (1) Do their attestation each day before they come into the Library. (2) Be ready to show their completed attestation when they arrive. (3) Wear their masks. (4) Maintain social distancing.

No public location is risk-free but working together, we can minimize the risks.  The Library also has a wide-range of services available at a distance.  See the Library homepage to start using those services.
